GBPUSD is “losing weight” on Wednesday; the statistics from the United Kingdom were mixed.

The numbers published by the United Kingdom in the afternoon raised more questions than they gave answers. The Inflation Rate decreased up to 2.4% y/y in September after being 2.7% y/y in August and against the expected reading of 2.6% y/y. The Core Inflation Rate was 1.9% y/y in September against the expected reading of 2.0% y/y. However, both numbers are worse than the month before.
The PPI Input added 1.3% m/m last month, it’s better than in August (+1.2% m/m) and market expectations (+1.0% m/m). The PPI Output also improved by adding 0.4% m/m.
As a result, these numbers provided rather mixed and complicated picture. The global inflation stopped rising, but there are some areas where prices continue growing. Later, they may influence the major indicator.
The inflation reports were an unpleasant surprise for the British Pound and made it fall.
