The GBP/USD pair has been trading upwards for the third consecutive trading session, but the momentum is fading away.

There hasn’t been much important statistics this week from the United Kingdom, which might have supported the Pound. On Monday, they published the December report on the CBI Industrial Order Expectations, which remained unchanged in comparison with November, at 17 points, although it was expected to decrease up to 14 points.
In the afternoon, the CBI will report on the Realized Sales in December. The month before, the indicator rose up to 26 points; the expected reading is 21 points.
The British Pound may yet get more expensive until the end of this trading week due to fluctuations of the USD. Right now, it is known that the US taxation system reform project has been already signed by both the US Senate and the House of Representatives, and now it’s waiting for the president Trump to sign it as well. It appears that he may sign it before Christmas. Earlier, the USD was bought on expectations and it’s very likely that now it may be sold on facts, although these facts are quite positive for the American currency.
